Iphone post, yee yee!
Finally uploaded some pictures taken the day before Indy's 18th birthday. Chilled with her and Janelle in "the office" while we prepared for the photoshoot the following day. At one point we wanted to pick up a sweesh from the corner store, so we pulled Janelle in the wagon.

We make Indy do all the fittings since she's as thin as the models, and we had this pair of rainbow suspenders we wanted to test shoot. Janelle suggested she try them on without a shirt, surprisingly Indy was willing to.

accidents happen.
What's with all the recent car accidents?
Janelle turned her old bedroom into our new office. Pretttty legit. We were filling out our "inventory catalog" for the online store yesterday and we ran out of hangers. We decided to bike ride to the store, and this happened along the way.
Janelle got hit by a car as she was going from the sidewalk to the bike lane. I didn't see it happen, By the time I'd turned around she was sitting in the road.
The police, fire department, and ambulance came. Pretty big commotion for Fremont.
Janelle asked that I take a picture of "her saviors," the guys who saw it happen.
It could have been worse, but she did fuck up her ankle. Hope she feels better soon.

graduating with class
Much to my delight, Jason sent me an email saying that my film Four Reasons (http://vimeo.com/5354157) will be playing at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art on August 31st. Also, my seestor gets back from her month long trip to Nepal today. It's only 11 am, but so far i'd have to say that the first day of July aint a bad one.
aaaand finally some pictures from Indy and Ape's graduation.

Superfly in Seattle
My first blog and i'm already behind! Here are some pics from my trip to Seattle a few weeks back.
Jason from BAVC (Bay Area Video Coalition) was able to find funding for myself and 3 other youth affiliated with BAVC. We stayed in a hotel near the downtown area which reminded me of New York blended with Berkeley's chill, artsy vibe. Our main purpose of going was to participate in Seattle International Film Festival's Youth Fly Filmmaking exeprience- Superfly.
50 youth + 36 hours + 6 short films = Superfly

Jason's backside, the twins, and angelisa- my partner in crime.
We spent a day in Seattle before a 2 hour bus ride to Sqauxin Island, the Native American reservation that would be hosting Superfly for the next two days. The youth center where we stayed had no beds, which meant you slept on the floor of the gym or, if you were involved in the editing process, you didn't sleep at all.
my new homies Chuy and Matt with my reunited homie Sami Kubo
the group I mentored editing.... all night long.
angelisa, trapped in the editing room.
of course not everyone stayed up...
After everything we headed back to Seattle where were watched the videos we'd made at the Seattle International Film Fest.
I had a fantastic time. Not only did i get to experience a new city, i also got to hang out with some great peeps. Shout out to my girls angelisa and sami for making me laugh and letting me take ridiculous pictures of them.
